10-year picture

Will this college pay off in a decade?

Pick a college and a major. We'll show you year-by-year cost, loan balance, earnings, and debt-to-income — as honest ranges, not a single number. Compare up to three colleges side-by-side.

Your college (up to 3)

Start with one. Add a second or third to compare 10-year trajectories side-by-side.

Intended major

A rough match is fine — “business” or “nursing” beats nothing. We use it to pick the right earnings curve per college.

Household income

Used to estimate need-based aid. Ballpark is fine — most families don't know their FAFSA SAI off the top of their head.

State of residence

Triggers in-state pricing at public colleges in your state.

GPA range

On a standard 4.0 unweighted scale. Reserved for a future merit-aid model; v1 doesn't condition on it.

Dependents (optional)

Siblings or others in your household besides you and your parents. Default 0 — we use this to size the income-protection allowance.

Heads up: our v1 uses a single national wage-growth prior — we don't differentiate growth by major yet. Loan payments assume federal Stafford + Parent PLUS at AY 2024-25 rates and a 10-year repayment plan. The methodology page (linked from the result page) spells out every assumption.
