The Rutgers University Athletic Bands Program is one of the oldest institutions of its kind and a proud member of the Big Ten Conference. Founded in 1915, it has stood the test of time. The bands that make up this program are the Rutgers University Marching Scarlet Knights (MSK) and the Rutgers University Pep Band. For over 100 years, the band program has been a history of innovation, excellence, and, most importantly, unwavering support for our Athletic Teams. Starting out as an 11-member band, it has now grown into a mighty force of sound with over 370 marchers. From playing the school's fight songs, 'The Bells Must Ring,' and 'Colonel Rutgers,' to singing the School's Alma Mater, 'On the Banks of the Old Raritan,' the Rutgers University Athletic Bands Program provides the University with a tremendous amount of school spirit, full of color, history and tradition. Students in the band program have become a thrilling part of your college game day experience.
